“You can’ t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.” — Maya Angelou
Practice doesn’t make perfect, it makes permanent but if you practice with feedback you can improve. Begin at the beginning – start. Start by allowing your creativity out. Open the window to the remarkable part of your brain where poetry, music, prose, painting, woodwork, storytelling, magic, innovation, big ideas live. If you open it enough to let a breeze waft through, you will be surprised by the possibilities that arise that you hadn’t considered. If you act on the impulse, more will blow through and when you are comfortable open the window a bit wider.
Take a picture, draw a doodle, write a three line poem, make a craft, build something, plant a small garden, share a crazy thought and the space is replenished with other imaginative ways to express yourself. In the first months, don’t fret too much about the ‘quality’, stretch for quantity and share it all with your partner, your family, your friends, the world and accept any meaningful constructive feedback with humility. Take the responses and where possible learn and adapt. By sharing your creativity more appears and by listening to others (except haters) they become more open to creating.
Make Today Remarkable, by opening the window,
B
