Hope lies in dreams, in imagination, and in the courage of those who dare to make dreams into reality. ~ Jonas Salk
The sun came up, just as I was reaching 6 kilometer mark in my morning run today. I was churning step after step and thriving in the brisk (-2 degress C) morning air and was long past the mini-wall of turning for home. There were a couple more k’s before turning around and from past experience, I know that these are when the best stuff gets freed from my imagination and clarity about what I need to do over the next few days to make immediate, relevant and concrete decisions about imminent and important projects. Even on the days when barriers and burdens press hard, I am lifted in hope that I can only uncover by exertion and distance from the details I am trying to work out.
Three grand essentials to happiness in this life are something to do, something to love, and something to hope for. ~ Joseph Addison
I am grateful that I have all three and that happiness is another tendency that I lean towards more often than not. It isn’t mystical, mythical or metaphysical. The happiness is real, partly because I believe it and mainly because I do something every day to make it so.
